What Have We Done Lately?

  • Intervened on behalf of numerous homeowners next to properties being illegally enlarged or altered.
  • Monitored zoning and permit issues at public hearings where Brentwood interests are involved.
  • Assumed a leadership role in support of such matters as banning on leaf blowers; limiting or prohibiting the intrusion of business uses into residential areas; oversight of traffic, parking and street improvements; preventing catering trucks from parking all day on residential streets; and more.
  • Halted visual blight by pressing for enforcement of the San Vicente Corridor ordinance to keep signage to a minimum and rooftop mechanical equipment from view.
  • Convinced the city to force the Bel Air Summit Hotel to re-install fire hydrants and fire lanes to reduce the threat of a fire spreading to our homes.
  • Negotiated a complex agreement with the Getty Center on operating hours, noise and other factors affecting Brentwood.
  • Protected residences located near commercial buildings by getting developers to reconfigure exhaust fan and other noise sources, provide more underground or on-site parking, and making other changes.
  • Worked with LAPD to prevent the elimination of a nightly patrol car in Brentwood.
  • Created a new Sunset/405 Initiative to fight area traffic and congestion, along with the Bel Air Homeowners Association.
  • Invested in the clean up of the 405/Sunset northeast ramp with a monthly program and have begun discussions to create a permanent initiative to fund clean up and beautification around the entire interchange.
  • Helped to fund the annual LAPD officer get-together to further bolster relations between our community and the LAPD.
  • Created a massive petition drive which prevented the development of shopping center in the middle of Brentwood which would have led to the taking of a part of Gorham by the developer.
  • Helped combat the erection of a new high-rise on Barrington and Wilshire which, among other things, would have added further to congestion in the co
